Quickstart

Work with IceFold’s built-in creation assistant or a supported external assistant to explore ideas, develop stories and visual direction, then create and refine the work. You can also edit directly on the same canvas.

1. Open IceFold

Open the app, register or sign in, and start on the canvas. Models and API keys are managed by IceFold; no provider setup is needed.

2. Find a direction

A rough thought, a reference or your own material is enough to start the conversation.

I want to make a cartoon about a cat and dog playing football. Help me explore two different directions before making anything.

Yes. Bring even a rough idea. The assistant can suggest directions and help develop the story and style before production. If you already know what you want, or want the assistant to choose, say so and move ahead.

Make a short, playful 2D cartoon of a cat and dog playing football in a park. Choose the minor details. Show me the production plan and costs before generating.

When you are ready to make it, the assistant prepares editable steps on the canvas. Starter workflows and examples are optional; you do not need to install a Studio or learn to connect steps first.

3. Review the plan and start production

Check the inputs, planned outputs and content versions on the canvas. Ask for changes if needed. Before paid generation, review the proposed costs and any spending approval requested. Saving material is separate from sending a paid generation request; welcome credits do not guarantee that every project is covered.

Ask the assistant to proceed, or use Run on a ready step. An explicit Run uses the current visible inputs, including your saved edits. You do not need to confirm an upstream input just to run the next step.

4. Review and refine the result

Open the result to read the script or preview the media. Edit directly or ask the assistant to change a specific part. Compare versions and rerun the ones you choose. Use Pin to protect an output from ordinary reruns.

Confirm publishes the visible result and allows eligible automatic downstream steps to continue. Review settings decide where work pauses. Opening a preview does not approve the result or finish your review.

5. Download and reuse

Download the finished result and keep editing on the same canvas. Your work is saved automatically. Save the production steps as a Flow when you want to reuse the method with new material or another version.
